-- I feel terrible, but I totally forgot to look this family up in the Hradešice parish. The indexes are wonderful, too. There were plenty of them in the parish, as I remember. Need to research this further, 24 Sep 2003.
B Research conducted by Archivex Praha, dated 27 June 1995. Stated that child came from Plichtic c. 6. He was also probably from Těchonice. See his notes.

OCCUPATION: Sedlák.
RESIDENCE: Zborov č. 16. Also listed as coming from č. 10 in a grandson`s birth record. See Plánice parish records, vol. 5, pg. 330 (report dated 26 Mar 1997).
LOG/NOTES:
-- This man may well have had more children (only three are listed as having been found in the records); a note from archival report dated 26 Mar 1997 says that "other children couldn`t be looked up, becuase registers for the town of Zborovy from the years of 1785-1798 are missing. After 1799, the family didn`t have any children."
-- One solution to this would be to check any indexes of the same records covering the same time period.
-- Another way to pick up other possible children is to look for their marriages in this and surrounding parishes. Parents are usually mentioned in the marriage records, so this would be a good way to cement other possible connetions.OCCUPATION: Sedlák (farmer).
ORDIANCES: Also, this used to be Mr. Hlůžek born abt. 1762. Temple work done under this name unless can change it.

-- There was an additional child Hl ek born in Zborovy, Anna, p. 281 of the Zborovy book. I didn’t find any others from 1784-1787. Did check that one out, and she belonged to wrong parents. The other solutions are more complicated and time won’t permit right now to work on these angles, SRE 19 Sep 2003.
RESIDENCE: Zborovy č. 10 (from grandsons`s, Vacslav`s marriage record (Vacslav-Matauš Hlůžek-Voršila Krisťanová)). Also, from her own marriage record.
NAMES: This is definitely the spelling of her surname given in her marriage record.
-- Searched for her in Plánice birth index from 1761 (didn't actually go later, because of the age she would have to have been at marriage) back to 1750 and never even found any Křišťan kids at all. I'm going to pass on this for a while, SRE 19 Sep 2003.
RESIDENCE: Zborovy č. 16.
LOG/NOTES:
-- This person found, as expected, in records of this parish. See "sources" for the reference to the event and date it was reported in the archive report.

OCCUPATION: Domkář.
RESIDENCE: Krřižovice č. 8 (at time of marriage). Skránčice č. 12 (from his own birth record, as well as from grandchild`s, Václav`s marriage record (Vácslav Hlůžek-Majdalena Píblová-Blažej Píbel)). Great-grandchild`s birth record says residence was Skrančice č. 2.
LOG/NOTES:
-- Skránčice, formerly in Plánice parish, now in Zavlekov. Records are only available by contacting: Obecní úřad, matrika, 341 74 Zavlekov, Czech Republic (i.e., they are not available at the Státní obastní archiv).
-- Not sure what problem was with records not being in Plánice and needing to look only in Zavlekov. I found some children in index in Plánice. Checked for later children in Zavlekov parish registers (which were, by the way, available in the Plzeň archive), but couldn't find anything in the index at all from 1787-1801 for Píbl kids. There are some Beibl's there, but I doubt these are ours, SRE 19 Sep 2003.
RESIDENCE: Křižovice č. 6, Zdebořice parish. From grandson`s, Vácslav`s marriage record (Vácslav Hlůžek-Majdalena Píblová-Maria Baštářová).
LOG/NOTES:
-- May have been illegitmate. Check birth record again.
RESIDENCE: Zborov č. 16 (from son`s birth record).
PROFESSION: Farmer.
-- Could possibly find more kids, though there is a gap. Indexes start in Plánice in 1750, and I need to look line by line further back, SRE 19 Sep 2003.
-- Did find one kid in index, but now comes the line-by-line search, SRE 19 Sep 2003.
-- There is a marriage of a Jakub Hlůžek, son of Vít Hlůžek to a Maržena, daughter of deceased Matěj Potužintaze (last four letters could be another word) in Zborov 5 Oct 1749, no page given. Could really be ours. The only part we don't have totally is the name of Maržena's dad - last name. Will review their kids' birth records again, to compare, SRE 22 Sep 2003.
-- Now I'm really starting to doubt. Something doesn't hang together here. In their son's, Matouš' birth record, it does say he is the son of "Jakub Hlůzek and Maržena. B. Bartolomej Raudošek" I don't know what that B means, but I don't think it could be father, because it isn't always a male. I looked down the page and saw a Lydmila; another, a Barbara. Maybe it's really an L. and stands for the person who bore the child to the altar, 22 Sep 2003.
-- It's definitely an L. I compare it to the B in Bartoloměj just following it. Definitely this does not mean father. There are many other women under L., who bore the child to the alter, as well as men here. It means the person who bore the child to the alter. Also, Jakub's (other son of Jakub) birth entry also has the same person who bore the child to the altar (Bartoloměj Raudošek), it could not be the father of his mother. I am therefore going to stick with the marriage entry (i.e., Jakub Hlůžek and Maržena Potužníková), rather than the bogus info given by the archivist who did the research on Matouš' birth entry (wherein the person who bore him to the altar was reported as being his mother's father), 22 Sep 2003.
-- The only Jakub Hlůžek born any time from 1720 to 1744 was this one, exactly matching estimated birth date, and father matching. There is one other Vít having kids during this time in Plánice parish (it is not a 2nd marriage of our Vít, since both couples overlap in time). He only has one child, later on, in 1735, Vojtěch. This possibility seems pretty dubious. Our Vít is also from Zborovy, the reported place of origin of the family, 24 Sep 2004.
RESIDENCE: Zborov č. 16 (from son`s birth record).
RESIDENCE: Zborovy č. 10 (from daughter`s marriage).
OCCUPATION: Gazarium (Latin, genitive case).
LOG/NOTES:
-- Archivist reports, "Unfortunately, the entry of Ursula (Voršila) Křisťan (or anything similar to it) was not found. The surname did not appear in the registers of Plánice parish before the year 1760" - 26 Mar 1997.
-- Check surrounding parishes.
-- Check for information in other descendants' parish register entries. One of them may lead to his actual place of origin. Apparently, he was not always in Zborovy.
-- Check his death record to see if there`s any more information (he had died by the time his daughter, Voršila (Ursula) was married, 17 Nov 1776).
-- Checked: Berní rula : 24, Kraj Plzeňský, díl II. / zpracovaly Iva Čadková, Magda Zahradníková, ISBN 80-85475-88-X, p. 505 (Plánice parish, Újezd u Plánice town). There was a Mikoláš Křišťan listed in Újezd u Plánice (1666?). It is apparently very close to Zborovy, where our Mathias Křišťan was from. This is quite probably our ancestor (Mikoláš), SRE -- 3 Apr 2003.
OCCUPATION: Chalupník.
RESIDENCE: Skránčice č. 8 (from son`s birth record). Also possibly 12.

-- The first child is a bit suspicious, since she was born in a different town in the parish, and since there is such a big gap between her and the 2nd child. Begin search of marriages, perhaps, of Adam Píbl. Index of marriages for Plánice parish only goes back to 1762. If married earlier on, then perhaps it would be OK to keep Rozalie in family.
-- Haven't found a marriage for an Adam Jan Píbl yet. Checked from 1756 back to 1749 at least. I did find some Píbl's, though, in the parish. Since we don't have a marriages for this guy, we don't have a father's name to connect to. There is no birth of Adam Ján Píbl back through 1720, but there is a Jan Píbl born 23 Dec 1723 to Friderich and Maryanna Píbl. This is very possible. There are other children born to them, and then later (2nd wife?) Friederich and Kateřina Píbl, all from Nový Hospody, Plánice parish, SRE, 24 Sep 2003.

-- Andreas Pavelec is listed as a witneses in son Jiří's christening, of Skránčice.
Skránčice No 8 was residence at time of birth.
OCCUPATION: Sartore.
RESIDENCE: Křižovice č. 6 (daughter`s marriage record).
-- Baštář family is quite plentiful in Zdebořice. Only problem is that there are no indexes. Need to do line-by-line search. When parish goes to Klatovy, several years earlier, there are indexes again. Try to do this on Monday. Indexes end in 1760 (i.e., none earlier), but bagged because the birth records that each child is the xth child of parents; Maria was the first, 19 Sep 2003.
-- Try looking for them in Plánice.
B Personal Information. Place says "Pfarre Nicov-Böhmen". Record mentions child's address of origin as Křižovice č. (not listed). See daughter`s birth record.
-- Could look her up in Plánice. Records are not indexed previous to 1750, so must look manually, SRE 19 Sep 2003.
