OCCUPATION: Schneider (tailor).

LOG/NOTES:
-- It may seem strange, but the last time we were in Ollersbach in '94, it seems like we looked for Michael Koller and Anna Amgross in the books and didn't find him, but did her. This time I find him. I'm wondering just how thoroughly this Ollersbach line was researched in the 1950's. Perhaps not too thoroughly. It may still be worth a thorough perusal of the books of this person's Ollersbach ancestry, SRE 8 Sep 2003.

Petr ŠKUDRNA

IMMIGRATION/EMIGRATION: A note from the papers of Marion Farvid says "'Peter & Albert Karl Kudrna.' What this may mean, I'm not sure. Perhaps they were all three brothers that came over to the States together." Note that there was a Peter born in the family, who died early. Were there actually two? Another person not named Peter who came to the United States. Look for the original source of this information. Another note that said, "Peter is brother of Karl, possibly Albert also. Peter started hotel in Chicago abt 1920."

NAME CHANGE: Note that surnames of all children of this person were KUDRNA, whereas in this person's marriage, as well as earlier in the family, the name is ŠKUDRNA.

OCCUPATION: Sedlák.

LOG/NOTES:
-- Information on this person received from Marion Farvid. No record of this person actually having been born in Nicov parish registers, unless he had a different name than Peter, as any of the other names of his siblings, perhaps. But it may be possible that he was born (his younger brother, Peter died at age 1) as the second Peter of the family, the first having died. He was suppoed to have started a hotel in Chicago in ab 1920.

Theresia STEINBRECHER

B Archive record sub by Clifford Moore, Fam. Rep: Hermine Anna Kudrna. Par rec., S.A.M. Blaschek 1956.

Leopold KÖGL

BIRTH: $Kasten books.

OCCUPATION: Farmer

NOTES:
-- Searched baptism index from 1722-1757 and 1757-1784 on FHL 1,046,837:1 for surname Köpl only.

Katharina FEIGL

NOTES:
-- I think I just added her to the set of parents I logically deduced was hers. Check the parents of the 1760 and 1766 Katharina FEIGLINs to make sure of this.
-- This is correct. There are actually three of them: 1760, 1766, and 1762 (ours, but not listed in the Pyhra records). Tried to show one of the 1760 or 1766 ones, but those two could not be correct.
-- Although it can't be conclusively proven yet which of two Katharinas this person is, who were born in this parish (1766 or 1760), the former would be two years younger than the husband, and the latter, four years older. The most logical choice would usually be the one two years younger, but in the marriage record, Katharina is listed as two years older than him. The fact of the wife being older may be more significant than her exact age. Ages may either be lied about or have been confused over time, so the more likely of the two seems to be the one four years older. More information should be found on this, however.
-- Or perhaps, our person is not one of the two above, nor listed in the index, but possibly still in the actual records. A thorough search has been done of this. The actual parish was searched, as well as the index, from 1761-1764 inclusive. This yielded no results. Something to check is that in the marriage of the Katharina we know to be ours, the one who married Leopold KÖGL, a Georg Feigl of Pillinghof is listed as a witness. Katharina is also listed as coming from Pillinghof, whereas the 1766 person is born in Schaubing, as are her other silbings?, and the 1760 person is born in Pyhra, as are her other siblings?. The only FEIGLs in the index in this parish at this time that have Georg in their names are Johann Georgius, born 1 Feb 1756 in PILLINGHOF (check to make sure this is true) to Joannes Georgius and Barbara KÖGL (this same couple, Johannes Georg FEIGL of PILLINGHOF and Barbara AMPÜCHL were were married in 1743). JG and B were the parents of the Johann Georgius b. 1756. Possibly either J G Sr. or Jr. was the person who appeared in the marriage record of Katharina FEIGLIN as Georg FEIGL, thus possibly being either her father or brother. This is probably the correct family. Interestingly, there is only one record of a child of theirs being born in this parish. A more likely scenario would be that they had more children, but were just christened in a different parish. Pillinghof is a small enough place that it doesn't even occur in "Gemeindelexikon" gazetteer, so that narrows it down even more. Definitely, the most likely thing is that her parents are Johannes Georg FEIGL and Barbara AMPÜCHL, so this is the way I am setting it up - Shon R. Edwards 2/99.
-- Check to make sure that Pillinghof is in this parish (it seems it could be, since a generation further back, it is mentioned again, with Martin FEIGL's birth). If not though, check to see where it is, and write to get a confirmation of other kids. Interestingly, JG Feigl and Barbara were married in this parish in 1743; a son was born to them in 1756. No other children are apparently born to them. Why? Check Kasten, if it is a neighboring parish, which I believe it was. Check through our Kasten photocopies, as well as the video that we took of parish registers, to see if we can find some FEIGLs born on the same page - Shon R. Edwards 2/99.
